According to NASA, the rings of Saturn, are “young and ephemeral” – relatively speaking of course. The Cosmic Dust Analyzer aboard NASA’s Cassina spacecraft deduced that the rings of Saturn are estimated to be only a few hundred million years old, a fraction of the 4.6 billion years Saturn is believed to be in existence.
